Joel Schoch kam im Jahr 1991 zur Welt. Im Alter von 9 Jahren begann er mit dem Klavierspiel. Der Musik endgültig verfallen ist er allerdings erst im Rahmen seiner Maturitätsarbeit, wo er die Musik für das Musical „Verbutzt“ komponierte. Nach einem filmmusikalischen Vorkurs in Bonn (DE), studierte er im Bachelor „Film und Medienmusik“ an der Hogeschool van de Kunsten in Arnhem (NE), um danach den Bachelor und Masterstudiengang „Komposition für Film- Theater und Medien (FTM)“ an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste abzuschliessen. Im Rahmen seiner Studienzeit hat er Musik für Ensembles verschiedener Grössen geschrieben, mehrere Games vertont, ein Kindermusical geschrieben und ein 3D-Hörspiel komponiert.

Er hat für FAR: Lone Sails, FAR: Changing Tides und Herdling die Musik komponiert, hat mehrere Millionen Streams seiner Soundtracks, durfte mit Lone Sails den "Game Audio Award" 2020 in Oulu gewinnen. ​

Joel Schoch was born in 1991. He started playing the piano at the age of 9. He finally fell for composing music in the context of his High School graduation work, where he composed the music for the musical "Verbutzt". After a preliminary course in film music in Bonn (DE), he studied "Film and Media Music" at the Hogeschool van de Kunsten in Arnhem (NE), before completing his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in "Composition for Film, Theatre and Media (FTM)" at the Zurich University of the Arts. During his studies he wrote music for ensembles of various sizes,  composed music for games, wrote a children's musical and composed a 3D radioplay.


He composed the music for FAR: Lone Sails, FAR: Changing Tides and Herdling, has had several million streams of his soundtracks, and won the 2020 Game Audio Award in Oulu with Lone Sails.
